How It Started

Our roots are firmly planted in the transport industry. With more than 35 years of experience and our own trucking company, McSweeney Transport, we've spent decades living and breathing trucks. Through those years, we recognised a gap in the Australian market for high-quality custom parts and accessories, particularly for American-style trucks.

As the availability of quality products in Australia began to decline, we started sourcing premium parts directly from the United States for our own fleet. What began as a way to customise and improve our own trucks soon sparked interest from others in the industry.

At truck stops and rest areas, drivers would regularly approach us asking where we had sourced certain lights, accessories, or chrome parts. Realising there was strong demand, we began ordering extra stock and selling it to fellow truck enthusiasts. What started as a side venture quickly gained momentum.

In 1998 was when we first started ordering out of the states. A little bit here and a little bit there. In the early 2000’s is when we started buying in volume and selling to people.

In 2008, All American Custom Chrome was officially born. Our first "warehouse" was actually our laundry at home, where we stored a handful of light boxes and a small range of products. From those humble beginnings, the business steadily grew through word of mouth, customer loyalty, and our passion for the industry.

In 2012, we took the business on the road with our first blue trailer, attending truck shows across the country and bringing our products directly to customers. As demand continued to grow, we invested in a larger and more impressive mobile showroom. In 2021, we purchased the trailer many people recognise today on highways and at truck shows around Australia.

Originally the transport trailer of Australian motorcycle champion Casey Stoner, the trailer underwent an extensive 18-month transformation. We completely stripped it back, redesigned the layout, and custom-built it into the mobile retail showroom you see today. By 2023, the project was complete, giving us a bigger, better, and more modern platform to showcase our ever-expanding range of products.

Today, All American Custom Chrome attends approximately 40 truck shows each year, making us one of Australia's most active mobile truck accessory retailers. We proudly travel the country behind our iconic trucks, including the 1967 Peterbilt "Top Cat" and the 1993 Kenworth T900 "HOT425", bringing quality products, industry knowledge, and a passion for trucking directly to the people who share it.

From a few boxes in a laundry to a nationally recognised mobile showroom, our journey has always been driven by one thing—our love for trucks and the people who keep the industry moving.
